From scrap to steel
A complete reinforcing steel range, produced in-house across Europe.
In our European facilities, we produce, process and distribute a broad range of reinforcing steel products for the construction industry. This close-to-market, in-house model supports a reliable supply chain and a production process aligned with circular economy principles. As a result, in 2025 we achieved a recycling rate of 96.6 per cent in the production of wire rod at our steelworks in Kehl (in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14021).

Reinforcing Steel Europe is certainly aware of its responsibility in the area of sustainability. As early as 1997, our steelworks in Kehl was awarded the EMAS certificate for the first time: a certificate that assesses the continuous improvement of environmental performance. This was followed in 2014 by the first award of the SustSteel label, a quality mark awarded on the basis of economic, environmental and social performance. Since then, we have obtained numerous ISO certificates. It is our firm aim to continue this trend.

Creating a new standard.
In 2013, we were the first company to draw up Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for reinforcing steel products at the IFT Rosenheim in Germany, and we were also actively involved in the development of Product Category Rules (PCRs). Today, Reinforcing Steel Europe combines production, processing and logistics into a reliably functioning end-to-end process, with a focus on efficient operations and continuous improvement. Together, we aim to help shape the future of reinforcing steel in Europe.
